Sabbath-in-a-Box

 Actually, Shabat-In-A-Box. Brilliant idea.

I’m actually a little surprised no one’s thought of it before. A clear plastic box with all the necessities, delivered to Jewish patients in the hospital on Friday nights so that they can observe the Sabbath. Of course, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before someone sues them for it, but still it’s neat.

Baptists actually do something similar. We bring Krispy Kremes to the waiting room.

I’ve studied various religions and lots of denominations in my life. It’s kind of a hobby. I’ve always liked Judaism.  If I didn’t believe in Jesus and love bacon (and vise versa!) I might even look into joining up. But that is too big an if.

Anyhoo, here’s a little Sabbath music for your Friday evening:

Hevenu Shalom Aleichem!
