We’re from the government and we’re here to help…
Nope, we didn’t save any energy, but they did manage to get me a boatload of OT. Yeah, we didn’t save any electricity, didn’t gain an hour, but did manage to cost me a couple weeks with my kids.
And this is just a harbinger of things to come.
In a couple years, when you’re driving your buggy to work, remember – They’re from the government. And they’re here to help. Or at least they’re here to make you feel like they’re trying to help.
And isn’t it all about how we feel? It’s not about what works, not about facts and reality and all those pesky things that keep us from our perpetual Robin-Williams-movie inner-childhood. It’s about feeling like we tried out best to solve problems we dreamed up in the first place. It’s all about warm fuzzies – or is it fuzzy cooling, or maybe fuzzy climate change. I can never keep up.
F*ckers. Gimme back my two weeks if you’re going to be playing with time and energy. No? Can’t do it? Then how about you focus on things that actually need changing?
