Best Bond since Diamonds.
Think of it as Bond Begins, because that’s what it is. The Craig Bond is rough and learning-he’s becoming the James Bond we meet with Connery.
Fewer gadgets, more acting. Fewer one-liners (though there were some), better dialog. The villian was less exotic and more menacing. The Bond Girl was smoking hot and her character’s development didn’t suffer for it.
Ace is right; the third act did drag a bit, but I thought the ending made up for it.
