Ok, so this has no potential for abuse….
Pictures of eyes watching you encourage honesty. My first thought reading this was about the billboard of Dr. T.J. Eckleberg in The Great Gatsby. My second thought was that we should put this picture up in Justice Stevens chambers.
And then there’s this: the fMRI Lie Detector coming to market. I’m sure it would be a violation of the Geneva Conventions somehow to use it on terrorists, but it looks like it has it’s uses. The fact that it’s only 90% would worry me though. I did have a polygrapher tell me that conventional lie-detector tests couldn’t really be beaten if the polygrapher is competent. Trouble is, that’s too variable. I wonder if the same variation applies with this.
